I'm not allowed to talk about my uncle's death.

He worked at NASA from 1970 till 88, when he was fired. Ended up drinking himself into a mental hospital, where he kept repeating the same string of letters numbers, over and over: RA 4-35-55, plus 16-30-33. When we visited him at Christmas 94, he grabbed and told me to "search Taurus." I didn't know what he meant at the time - I thought he was crazy.

In 2010 my son overheard his great-uncle muttering: RA 4-35-55, plus 16-30-33. My son turned to me and said it sounded like celestial coordinates. I said your great-uncle 's used to work at NASA. He's just remembering the past. It doesn't mean anything. My son shrugged and looked away.

When my uncle died, it was - well, like I said, I can't talk about it. None of us can. But I can tell you that it fell to me to clear out his storage unit. In the back, buried under boxes of old clothes that smelled of dust, I found a cardboard box marked RA 4-35-55 +16-30-33 in scribbled black pen. I opened the box.

There were tapes inside.
